Nikol Pashinyan to Meet with Pope Francis in the Vatican
According to the Jamanak newspaper, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will be on an official visit to the Vatican on November 20. A meeting between Prime Minister Pashinyan and His Holiness Pope Francis is scheduled.
The newspaper attempted to clarify the agenda of the meeting with Pashinyan's spokesperson, Vladimir Karapetian. Without confirming details about the meeting, Karapetian stated, "We will issue a statement and a press release regarding the Prime Minister's visits in due time."
It is noteworthy that Pope Francis visited Armenia in 2016 at the invitation of then-President Serzh Sargsyan and His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, under the motto "Visit to the First Christian Country." Furthermore, according to the newspaper's information, a delegation led by Nikol Pashinyan will travel to France from November 11-13.
