A Dog Has Entered the Zoo Again: What is the City Hall Planning to Do?
Today, a dog has once again entered the Yerevan Zoo. This was reported to 168.am by the assistant director of the zoo, Valya Margaryan.
"The dog has not harmed any animals. Our zoo staff and the forest guardians of the FPWC foundation have been on duty all night. We have prevented any danger. The dog has been transferred to the 'Center for the Neutralization of Stray Animals' State Non-Profit Organization," said Valya Margaryan.
We asked the press secretary of the Yerevan mayor, Hakob Karapetyan, what the City Hall plans to do to ensure that no dogs enter the zoo premises in the future. "We plan to fence the zoo and implement a surveillance system. Currently, design and estimating works are underway, and it is expected that the work will be completed during 2020. It is necessary to conduct a survey, and specialists say that for the survey to be conducted, we need to wait until the end of leaf fall. For the aerial survey from above with quadcopters and drones, it is essential that the leaf fall has occurred," clarified Hakob Karapetyan.
