VIDEO. Issues of the Elderly Must Be Addressed: Urikhanyan on Pension Increase
Pensioners in Armenia receive excessively inadequate means to ensure their livelihoods, struggling to get by each day and already thinking about how to gather money for their primary needs at the beginning of each month, said MP Tigran Urikhanyan during a meeting of the National Assembly's committee on health and social issues, emphasizing that increasing pensions should be a priority.
"It is said that there is money in Armenia, the budget is expanding. It is essential to implement justified and objective expenses. Who else, if not the issues of the elderly, should be addressed?" he said, adding that citizens working for multiple employers should also be granted a pension equivalent to their second salary at the time of retirement.
