Russia and Turkey Begin Joint Patrols in Syria
The armed forces of Turkey and Russia have commenced joint patrol operations in areas east of the Euphrates River. The agreement to carry out these operations was reached in Sochi through a Russo-Turkish memorandum concerning Syria, as reported by ermenihaber.am.
Turkish and Russian soldiers previously met in the village of Sheri located within Syrian territory. During the patrol service, Turkey will utilize 4 armored vehicles, while Russia will use 5. Unmanned aerial vehicles will also be deployed. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the joint patrol operations will cover a width of 110 kilometers.
Additionally, a second military delegation from Russia is set to travel to Turkey to discuss the creation of a security zone in Syria.
