EU Provides €633 Million in Aid to Turkey
Following threatening statements from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the EU has dispatched €663 million in financial aid to Turkey for Syrian refugees, as reported by ermenihaber.am.
It should be noted that Turkey has planned to create a safe zone in northern Syria, where it intends to settle around 3.6 million Syrian refugees currently sheltered in Turkey.
According to Turkish sources, Turkey has begun efforts to send Syrians back to Syria. It has been reported that plans for housing to be constructed in the safe zone for refugees are already prepared.
Recall that Turkey had demanded support from the EU for the transportation of Syrian refugees during the first phase of creating the safe zone in northern Syria. Otherwise, Erdoğan threatened to “open the gates” and send the 3.6 million Syrian refugees sheltering in Turkey to Europe.
