Cases of soldiers who died in peace time are not being covered up, and no tangible evidence has been destroyed, said Arthur Melikyan, the head of the Investigative Committee's special assignments department, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly.

"Moreover, I should add that there has been a monitoring commission for a year now, consisting of representatives from NGOs. In that commission, we, the state apparatus officials, have no role; we merely have a supportive function. That is, we provide the materials of the case, and they work with those. Cases cannot be covered up. It is natural that the evaluations of the parents are somewhat different, as they do not agree with the findings based on the factual evidence obtained in the case. We continue our actions," said Arthur Melikyan.
