Young Man Crashes After Abducting 19-Year-Old Girl, Injuries Reported

On October 28, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 10:35 PM, a 25-year-old resident of Ijevan, Narek E., lost control of his Opel vehicle with license plate 36 NO 865 on Zoravar Andranik Street in the town of Gavar, crashing into the right-hand barrier of a bridge.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, Narek E., along with his passengers—23-year-old Hayk G. from Dilijan and 19-year-old Galya N. from one of the villages in Gegharkunik—sustained bodily injuries and were transported to the Gavar Medical Center.

Sources indicate that Galya N. was likely abducted for the purpose of marriage, and on the initiative of the Gegharkunik regional prosecutor, separate materials are being prepared at the Gavar police station, with an investigation underway regarding the abduction.
