Devin Nunes Calls on Donald Trump's Administration to Recognize the Armenian Genocide
Devin Nunes, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, has called on all members of Congress and President Donald Trump’s administration to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide. According to Armenpress, Nunes's appeal was posted on the Armenian National Committee's Twitter page.
“I urge all members of Congress, as well as the Trump administration, to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide, which is one of the most heinous crimes of the 20th century,” Nunes stated.
From 2015 to January 2019, Devin Nunes served as the chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. The House Rules Committee has approved a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide and sent it for discussion and vote in the House. On October 29, 2019, a vote will be held in the U.S. House of Representatives on the resolution (H. RES. 296) recognizing the Armenian Genocide.
