Video: Reserves Exceed Previous Years, Javadyan

It can be predicted that by the end of the year, our currency reserves will be higher than in previous years. This was stated today by the President of the Central Bank, Arthur Javadyan, during a conversation with journalists.

"We are talking about the foreign exchange policy we are conducting. As you know, we maintain a floating exchange rate policy. On the other hand, this year we had the opportunity to purchase a significant amount of foreign currency. We haven't reached 500 million dollars yet, but we have bought a little less this year. This is unprecedented; I noted that even in those years when there was a sharp appreciation of the dram, we didn't buy that much foreign currency," he said.

Javadyan mentioned that the increase in reserves can be beneficial for the country in several ways.
