Economic Growth Forecast is Greater Today: Pashinyan
The draft budget for 2019 and its implementation reflect the Government's program. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan mentioned this during the discussion of the draft budget for 2020 in the Parliament. He stated that the economic growth forecast today is larger.
Pashinyan noted that they base the budget on not optimistic, but rather conservative forecasts to ensure macroeconomic stability. “We faced the same issue in 2018, as the draft budget projected a 4.5% economic growth rate, but we achieved 5.2%. I believe this is the right approach to ensure a more stable macroeconomic environment. Yesterday, we discussed this approach with the Minister of Finance; we have discussed it multiple times. We adhere to the well-known principle: ‘Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.’ In this regard, a correct policy has been adopted,” he said.
