Fires Rage in Ijevan Forests with 35 Firefighters and Citizens Involved in Extinguishing Efforts

On October 24, at 16:36, the "911" service received information regarding a fire that broke out in the "Khorer" area of the village of Getahovit in the Tavush province. Two firefighting teams from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene, along with an operational group, 20 rescuers from the free duty shift, and 10 firefighters from the collective center of the civil defense forces of the civil protection department tasked with safeguarding special facilities in Tavush.

Due to impassable roads, the rescuers continued on foot for about 1 km. It was revealed that approximately 1 hectare of vegetation and trees were burning in the forested area managed by the "Hayantar" State Non-Commercial Organization in Ijevan. As of 21:00, 35 firefighters and 9 employees from the Ijevan branch of "Hayantar" were involved in the firefighting efforts.

At 22:25, firefighting operations were temporarily suspended due to darkness and difficult terrain, and a duty watch was established.
