There Are More Important Issues Than Posting Family Photos: Sharmazanov to Pashinyan
The greatest challenge facing Armenia is security, followed by pan-Turkism, and unfortunately, in the past 1.5 years, the new government has either failed to realize this or has chosen not to acknowledge it, or is powerless to take steps to strengthen our state's security.
This was stated today, October 22, during a meeting with journalists by the spokesperson for the Republican Party of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov. According to him, during this period, Turkey and Azerbaijan have organized joint military exercises three times, held parades, and talked about conducting actual military aggression against Armenia. “Our Prime Minister has spoken about Aliyev being polite and normal, while on the issue of Artsakh, he has made a series of contradictory statements that frankly weaken our position in negotiations,” Sharmazanov emphasized.
He recalled that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in the National Assembly that the military budget must significantly increase during his tenure. “Azerbaijan's military budget has increased by 20%, while ours has hardly increased at all. Here we have a discrepancy between words and actions. I don't want to say that the Prime Minister is lying or deceiving; but we are dealing with a person who declares one thing on the most important issue and implements something entirely different,” Sharmazanov noted.
“In light of Azerbaijan's 20% increase in military spending, organizing parties with a bottle of wine and entertaining the people in a reality-show manner is not within the duties of our state's leader. There are more important issues in our country than posting family photos,” said the spokesperson for the Republican Party of Armenia.
