Removal of Armenian Language, Literature, and History from Curriculum: Iveta Tonoyan

Iveta Tonoyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia faction, expressed her concerns today in the National Assembly regarding proposed changes to the law on "Higher Education and Science." According to the changes, Armenian language, Armenian literature, and Armenian history will not be included in the list of mandatory subjects in universities.

“Today, there are various officials who do not even know what the colors of the Armenian tricolor symbolize or who the author of the anthem is. I do not understand the removal of these three subjects from the mandatory curriculum. Each of these subjects starts with the word ‘Armenian.’ I cannot comprehend this organic intolerance towards anything related to Armenian culture,” she stated.
