There is indeed a problem in the Constitutional Court, and it needs to be addressed: Avinyan
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan stated during a press briefing that Hrayr Tovmasyan holds no status in the criminal case. “A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident; Hrayr Tovmasyan has no status in this criminal case. Certain individuals are being invited by the NSS to clarify circumstances; we must follow the legal process and understand what is happening,” Avinyan said.
Regarding the political aspect of the issue, Avinyan remarked, “Let’s return to our reality and remember all the processes that have occurred in relation to the election of the President of the CC. I get the impression that we are forgetting what has happened in the past in all these processes. I am definitely certain that the Constitutional Court currently has a legitimacy issue. I would not want any process that falls within the law enforcement domain to be viewed as a political process, but nonetheless, it must be noted that there is indeed a problem in the CC, and it needs to be addressed.”
The Deputy Prime Minister added that as long as there is a legitimacy issue, there is no trust in the CC, and the CC cannot operate within the framework of its powers.
