VIDEO: The Mayor Collected Funds and Purchased a 'Vaz 2121' During the April War

Based on operational data received by the Police YK Department, factual information has been obtained through materials prepared by the Chief Department of the Criminal Intelligence and Investigation. It has been revealed that the former head of the Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan, using his official position, collected a total of 4,752,000 AMD (equivalent to 9,900 USD) from various entrepreneurs in the administrative district and from individuals residing in Russia, under the pretext of providing financial support to participants of the April 2016 war.

According to information currently known to the investigation, the former head of the administrative district acquired several 'Vaz 2121' vehicles with the aforementioned funds, with the assistance of his close acquaintances. One vehicle was gifted to the president of the territorial organization of the Volunteer Union in the Shengavit administrative district, while another was registered in the name of his driver, which he subsequently embezzled.

The vehicle used for personal needs was found in the garage of the former head’s private house. A criminal case has been initiated by the police, and it has been sent to the investigative committee for further investigation. During the preliminary investigation, the former official has restored the damages caused. The investigation is ongoing.
