Masis Football Club Suspected of Organizing a Match-Fixing Scheme
According to Shamshyan.com, a criminal case has been opened in the investigation department of the Shengavit police station under the provisions of Article 201, Part 2 (bribery of participants and organizers of professional sporting events and commercial contests) and Article 214, Part 1 (abuse of authority by employees of commercial or other organizations) of the RA Criminal Code.
The police have received operational information indicating that the athletes of the Masis Football Club, along with an individual representing the other party involved in the match-fixing scheme, allegedly predetermined the outcome of the game in a favorable manner. Bets were placed based on this agreement, resulting in an estimated loss of 1.5 million dram to the bookmaker. An investigation is currently underway regarding this matter.
