Bulgaria's archaeologists have discovered a treasure dating back to the 5th century along the Black Sea coast. According to RIA Novosti, which cites local sources, a total of 16 gold coins and more than 20 bronze coins from that period were unearthed during the excavations.
Preliminary assessments indicate that the most valuable items are the gold coins featuring the portrait of Emperor Theodosius II. An expert from the Varna Historical Museum noted that the treasure may have been hidden during attacks on the ancient city of Marcianopolis.
