Negotiations Cannot Continue Forever: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stated at the UN General Assembly that there has been no progress in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict over the past 12 months. He explained this by claiming that the Armenian authorities are not interested in a peaceful resolution of the issue.
Mammadyarov added that Yerevan's declarations have been undermining the process and obstructing a peaceful resolution of the political conflict. Moreover, Azerbaijan is committed to resolving the issue as soon as possible.
The Minister also mentioned that negotiations cannot continue indefinitely and should not limit the right to self-defense under the UN Charter and international law.
