Shame: New Protest Rally in Tbilisi
A new protest rally under the slogan “Shame” is taking place in front of the Georgian Parliament in Tbilisi. According to one of the organizers of the rally, Shota Dighmelashvili, they have a strict timeline today as speeches are scheduled. He mentioned that many more people are expected to join the rally, as reported by Aliq Media.
Dighmelashvili outlined the demands of the protest: “We demanded the resignation of Giorgi Gakharia, a transition to a proportional electoral system, and the release of detainees. The ‘Georgian Dream’ brought a Russian communist and placed him in the chair of our Parliament’s speaker.”
It was noted that it has been three months since June 20. The organizers of the rally announced a new phase: the speakers of the rally “Together Against One” assert that if their previous targets were merely slaves, today their target is Bidzina Ivanishvili. In today’s rally, the organizers presented a one-year action plan, which they believe includes the possibility of “coordinated and unified actions by civil society and pro-Western political forces.”
