Arsen Torosyan Files Lawsuit Against Marina Khachatryan
The Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, Arsen Torosyan, has filed a lawsuit against former member of the Yerevan City Council, Marina Khachatryan.
He demands that she publicly apologize and refute the factual data he considers defamatory. In addition, Torosyan is seeking compensation.
The lawsuit was filed on August 28 and assigned to the judge Ruben Buniatyan of the Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction. It remains unclear which statement Torosyan deemed as defamation and insult.
Alina Nikoghosyan, the spokesperson for the Minister of Health, responded to a question from “Haykakan Jamanak” that at this time the minister has no comment regarding the issue.
It is noteworthy that Khachatryan recently claimed that Torosyan's exemption from mandatory military service contains corruption risks. Khachatryan also recently obtained from the CEC website a list of 43 individuals registered at Torosyan's place of residence, suggesting that Torosyan had employed tactics reminiscent of “Serzh's Armenia,” but did not elaborate further.
