Criminal Cases Regarding the Murder of Yuvetsi Karo and the Suicide of Karameli Harut Closed

The criminal cases regarding the murder of former MP Karo Karapetyan, known as Yuvetsi Karo, and the suicide of Harutyun Gharagyozyan, known as Karameli Harut, have been closed.

This was announced by Naira Harutyunyan, head of the information and public relations department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

The criminal case regarding the murder of Karo Karapetyan was closed on the basis of point 10, part 1, article 35 of the RA Criminal Procedure Code due to the individual's death. Meanwhile, the criminal case regarding Harutyun Gharagyozyan's suicide was closed due to the absence of a criminal incident.

Karo Karapetyan was shot dead on October 6, 2018, at the “Aighi” restaurant complex. Former MP Harutyun Gharagyozyan was suspected of being involved in the murder. Following the incident, Gharagyozyan reportedly committed suicide in one of the workshops in Zovuni region, according to preliminary assumptions.
