Armenian Armed Forces Take Control of Armenia-Georgia Gas Pipeline and Road, Says Artur Hunanyan
The spokesperson for the Minister of Defense, Artur Hunanyan, responded today to a question from SHANTNEWS.am regarding reports of the Armenian Armed Forces liberating 140 hectares of territory in the northern part of the Tavush region and advancing border observation posts.
Confirming the information, Hunanyan stated that as a result of precise operations, our forces now control strategically significant infrastructure for our country, including the gas pipeline entering Armenia from Georgia and the Armenia-Georgia highway, as well as roads leading to several rural communities in Azerbaijan.
“Let me be clear, I won't mention exact figures or hectares. I made a statement on the same day, saying that just because we are not creating noise like Azerbaijan, that does not mean we are not improving our positions. This has been an ongoing process in various sectors, including last year, when, so to speak, ‘black PR’ was used to misrepresent our actions towards the Nakhchivan direction. We are also improving positions there; this is a constant effort by the armed forces,” Hunanyan noted, adding that the actions and advancements of the Armenian Armed Forces were unexpected for the adversary.
