Birth Rate Decline Slows Down: Minister Arsen Torosyan
The pace of decline in the birth rate is slowing down. This was stated by the Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, on his Facebook page. In a series of good news, summarizing the birth rate statistics for the first half of 2019 and comparing them to 2018, we can note that the trend of decline is slowing down and if this continues, we can expect a halt to the decline in the birth rate by the end of the year or the beginning of next year, followed by an increase.
In the first half of 2018, there was a 4.9% decline compared to 2017, while in 2019, the decline was only 0.9% compared to 2018. These figures reflect the real impact of the socio-economic policies pursued by our government since the revolution.
P.S. The picture shows my son Gevorg, taken about an hour after he was born six years ago when I saw him for the first time.
