Monument Opens in Metsamor to Honor Soldiers Fallen in April War
A monument dedicated to Sasha Galstyan and other soldiers who fell in the April War was inaugurated today in Metsamor. The ceremony was attended by the relatives of the fallen soldiers, Deputy Minister of Defense Davit Balayan, and Anna Hakobyan, the wife of the Prime Minister. The governor of Armavir region, Hambardzum Matevosyan, unveiled the monument.
Arthur Baghdasaryan, the author of the monument, stated in an interview with reporters that the monument was designed with the idea of eternity and patriotism in mind. “It was initiated by Sasha’s parents and us to create a monument that would unite our people and our heroes. This aims for unity so that this memory remains alive and serves as an example for future generations,” said the monument’s creator.
