Farmer Who Announced the Spread of Brucellosis Invited to Police Today

A farmer who announced the spread of brucellosis among cattle in Armenia has been invited to the police today. This was reported by News.am, mentioning that former head of the State Food Safety Service Grigor Grigoryan informed journalists at a press conference today, referring to a recent press conference by farmer Tigran Yeghoyan.

“Yesterday, I was contacted by this farmer who asked for my help, and I promised to assist him. He mentioned that after his announcement, he began to experience pressure from the regional administration and the village administration. Today, he has been summoned to the police. When he asked why he was invited and what he had done, they replied, ‘You will come, and we will tell you,’” Grigoryan stated. “Although we still do not know the reason for his invitation, I suspect that after his announcement, pressure has started to be exerted on him, with the aim of potentially halting his activities.”

He also called on farmers to support their colleague and encouraged the “Agricultural and Peasant Union” and human rights defenders to stand by and provide support to the farmer to prevent any unfounded pressures from being applied.
