‘My Step’ to Address Noise Regulation for Entertainment Venues and Construction in Yerevan
In Yerevan, the ‘My Step’ faction of the council is proposing to grant certain powers to the council regarding the regulation of noise from entertainment venues and construction activities. This information was shared by council member Gayane Melkom Melkomyan on her Facebook page.
“In particular, we propose to set specific days and hours of silence for trade and services, as well as construction sites, based on their locations. We also suggest granting the council the same authority to establish silence hours for street musicians. These powers will allow the council to set flexible regimes according to zones. For instance, we can limit permissible noise hours near residential buildings while allowing more freedom for those further away, taking into account the neighborhood and other characteristics,” the council member wrote.
