Woman Pours Melted Wax on Tombstones to Lift Curse: Police
On August 1, a video titled “Graves of Heroes Desecrated in Yerablur” circulated on the internet, showing that there were traces of some substance on the gravestones of the heroes of the “April War” at the Yerablur military pantheon.
Following the directive of the Chief of Police of Armenia, Valery Osipyan, officers from various divisions of the police undertook extensive operational-investigative measures to quickly clarify the circumstances of the incident.
As a result, police in Ashtarak received information that a woman was exhibiting strange behavior at the local cemetery and was performing certain actions near the tombstones. She was located and taken to the Ashtarak police station.
The woman, a 51-year-old resident of Yerevan, confessed to pouring melted wax on the gravestones in an attempt to lift a curse. She also stated that she had performed similar actions at “Yerablur” and other cemeteries.
The circumstances of the case are under investigation. Relevant materials are being prepared concerning the incident.
