Drone Approaches Boeing 737 Near Zvartnots Airport
On July 19 of this year, the crew of a B737 aircraft heading to Yerevan reported that during the approach process to Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport, a remotely controlled drone was spotted at the same altitude and quite close to the left side of the aircraft. This occurred near the Dalarik community in the Armavir region, at approximately 1000 meters above ground (around 1900 meters above sea level). The Civil Aviation Committee provided this information.
Unauthorized flights and operations not coordinated with the air traffic service's flight information center pose unavoidable dangers and risks, which can lead to irreversible consequences. We urge and recommend that unmanned aerial systems be operated in accordance with the provisions established by decree No. 56 of April 11, 2007 (last updated by decree No. 100-N of June 17, 2016) and that the permissible altitudes and locations for flight be strictly adhered to.
