The Authorities Wanted to Resolve the Constitutional Court Issue Quickly, but They Changed Tactics: Hraparak

The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that the authorities aimed to quickly resolve the issue of the Constitutional Court, similar to how they addressed the issues of the Supreme Judicial Council through protests, pressure, and resignations. However, due to the resistance shown by the legal community and a portion of the public, which made it clear that the same process against the Constitutional Court could be interpreted as an attempt to seize power, and also since Article 213 of the Constitution does not permit this, the authorities changed their tactics in search of alternative regulation.

Days ago, we asked the Minister of Justice, Rustam Badasyan, in Artsakh about the status of the transitional justice law. Is it ready? He responded, 'No, we are developing a concept regarding this matter.'

Lawyers are surprised that you do not want to send the drafts of these laws to Venice for expert review, as you fear receiving negative feedback. 'The drafts do not exist yet; however, we will send them where necessary,' he stated. Yet regarding the vetting process, the head of the 'My Step' faction in the National Assembly, Makunts, indicated that the project is ready. 'There is currently no draft vetting law; it seems that the matter will be resolved through other legal regulations.'
