We Urge Not to Create Panic: Yerevan Metro
The Yerevan Metro has responded to a press release regarding the malfunction of metro trains.
In response to the June 22, 2019 article in the 'Zhamanak' newspaper titled 'Technogenic Disaster: A Metro Train Could Emerge from the Asphalt in Any Part of the City,' we inform that both the news and the 'professional' analyses have no relation to reality. How could the metro emerge from the asphalt in any part of the city when it is located 70 meters deep?
We also inform that during the night hours, when passenger transport by electric trains halts, a relevant brigade is dispatched to check all tracks at the stations using a detector. In case of a one-millimeter violation or crack, the incident is marked and immediately repaired. The Yerevan Metro operates in accordance with its motto and ensures 'fast, safe, and uninterrupted' passenger transport.
We urge our colleagues not to create panic among passengers and to clarify any information before presenting it through the always available phone number or email address provided to you.
