Intense Competition in the Board Market: Will 'Sergey of Europe' Be Accused of Illicit Enrichment?
According to the newspaper 'Zhamanak', intense competition is unfolding in the so-called board market.
For the last 20 years, the monopoly on the import and sale of construction timber belonged to Sergey Manukyan, known as 'Sergey of Europe'. He set the prices for both retail and wholesale timber, which were significantly higher than the market average.
As a result of market liberalization, the price of construction timber has decreased by at least 25% and continues to fall. Whether Manukyan will be accused of illicit enrichment remains uncertain.
