Conscription Soldier Accused of Sexual Assault Against Sergeant

According to ‘Factinfo’, a conscription soldier has been charged with committing sexual violence against a sergeant.

The incident occurred in December 2018.

Preliminary investigation data reveal that from December 14 to December 28, 2018, the soldier was assigned as an observer in a firing position located in the protective zone of a military unit. On December 16, in the early hours, the soldier engaged in sexual acts of a homosexual nature against the sergeant, who was asleep in the adjacent sleeping bag, taking advantage of his helpless state.

The soldier has been charged under Article 139, Part 2, Point 8 of the RA Criminal Code and has been placed under the commander's supervision.
