200 Blocked Vehicles on Yerevan-Meghri Highway

On March 25 at 3:47 PM, the '911' service was informed that a truck had skidded due to a snowdrift on the Saravan-Saralanj highway, blocking the road in both directions.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that an operational group from the Emergency Situations Regional Rescue Department and a firefighting unit were dispatched to the scene, with one team continuing on foot for about 500 meters due to traffic congestion.

Before the rescuers arrived at the call location, a 'Renault' brand truck was redirected with the assistance of special equipment from 'Vayk Road Administration', and the road became passable.

It was found that there were around 200 vehicles blocked on this section of the highway. Rescuers managed to remove a 'Ford Transit' (2 passengers) and an 'Isuzu' (3 passengers) from the blockade.

In collaboration with employees of 'Vayk Road Administration' and the Road Police, the rescuers provided necessary assistance to approximately 200 vehicles.
