VIDEO: Large-scale Embezzlement in 'High Voltage Electric Networks'
On January 9, a report regarding embezzlement and misappropriation by 'High Voltage Electric Networks' LLC was submitted to the General Department of Combatting Organized Crime of the Police. This was announced by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.
The preliminary investigation revealed that based on the director's order dated March 16, 2018, it was planned to dismantle and store certain support wires and cables from the 'Noraduz' and 'Lichk' overhead lines.
However, following the dismantling, officials of the company, taking advantage of their official positions, misappropriated the dismantled materials instead of inventorying and storing them according to the established procedures. As a result, 24,372 meters of cable valued at 47 million drams was stolen.
On March 14, a criminal case was initiated regarding the embezzlement by using official position and was sent for preliminary investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
