Car Falls Into Tavush Reservoir; Driver Killed
Today, around 14:00, the operational management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call about a vehicle that had fallen into the Tavush reservoir, located at the 2nd km of the Berd-Aygepar highway. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, rescue teams and police have retrieved the body of a man from the reservoir.
Witnesses at the scene stated that the vehicle, a VAZ 2107, belonged to the individual whose body has been recovered. Reportedly, he was serving as a contractual serviceman in the Armenian Ministry of Defense’s military unit.
Rescue teams are trying to bring special equipment to the location to pull the vehicle out of the reservoir. Police have also identified the collision site, where it is evident that the driver had exited the roadway, collided with concrete barriers, and ended up in the reservoir.
