New Recruits Unfamiliar with the Smell of Gunpowder: Inexperience Always Breeds Fear, Presidential Advisor

The advisor to the President of Armenia, Tevan Poghosyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "According to information from Artsakh, Azerbaijan is not only ramping up engineering work along the entire contact line but is also firing approximately 2,000 shots weekly towards the Armenian armed forces. Meanwhile, the Armenian side, keeping its promise, maintains the ceasefire.

More than six months have passed since the summer draft of 2018. We now find ourselves in a situation where even new recruits who have served for over six months are unfamiliar with the smell of gunpowder, as they lack experience in responding to enemy fire. Such inexperience always breeds fear. I hope our army has a tool to 'measure fear,' otherwise you understand what situation may arise due to the consequences of inexperience."
