Compensation of 10 Million Drams to Families of 2 Fallen Soldiers

The Assets and Liabilities Management Committee of the Soldiers' Insurance Fund has decided to provide compensations to the families of two fallen soldiers, as reported by the fund.

Today, a one-time payment of 10 million Armenian Drams will be transferred to the families of contract soldier, Sergeant Hayk Samveli Karamyan, and contract soldier, Private Hovhannes Grishayi Melkonyan. Additionally, a monthly stipend of 250,000 Armenian Drams will be provided for 20 years.

It is noted that Hayk Karamyan died on December 5, 2018, after being trapped under an avalanche in Sisian. Meanwhile, Hovhannes Grishayi Melkonyan sustained a fatal gunshot wound late in the evening of June 22, 2018, as a result of random gunfire from a comrade during a combat assignment.
