Zoo Should Be Closed Immediately, Expert Says

The Yerevan Zoo should be closed immediately. This was stated today during a press conference by Grigor Grigoryan, an expert from the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) on veterinary service quality.

According to Grigoryan, the zoo should remain closed until all work is completed, those responsible for the actions are identified, and punished.

“What is happening indicates that people will not stop until they achieve their goals. If a person poisons an animal without a conscience, it means that tomorrow they can introduce a pathogen into the animals, leading to a massive outbreak, which could involve diseases that also infect humans on a large scale,” he stated.
