Blizzard Conditions in Meghri Mountain Pass and Kuchak Road: Current Situation on Roads

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia reports that as of December 12 at 3:00 PM, snow is falling on the highways of the Apara, Aragats, and Jambarak regions, as well as at the Vardenyats Mountain Pass.

There are blizzard conditions at the Meghri Mountain Pass and on the Kuchak highways in the Aparan region. There are spots of black ice at the Vardenyats Mountain Pass. Due to the blizzard, the Vardenyats Mountain Pass is impassable for passenger vehicles, and it is closed for heavy and trailer trucks.

Road construction teams are conducting snow removal and treatment works with salt and sand on the highways.
