State Revenue Committee Promises to Expedite Investigations of Properties Owned by Gagik Tsarukyan
The leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, has been assured by the State Revenue Committee that they will expedite the investigations of the sealed properties belonging to him.
As previously reported, employees of these properties were staging a protest near the government building starting in the morning. After being promised a response by tomorrow, the protesters moved to the building of the investigative department of the State Revenue Committee. The deputy head of the department, Armen Gevorgyan, met with representatives of the demonstrators. Armenian Davtyan, the director of the restaurant associated with 'Multi Resort', informed about this meeting.
According to her, the State Revenue Committee representative promised to use all measures possible to speed up the investigations. Davtyan noted that she cannot share much information, as the investigation is ongoing.
“However, the reason is not such that they would seal and leave 70 people without jobs. They assure us that they are working around the clock to complete the investigation as soon as possible. We still maintain that what is happening has a political context. In my opinion, as long as there is no clear decision regarding Tsarukyan, our issue will not be resolved either,” added Davtyan.
She reported that the protesters would wait for 2-3 days, and today she has been allowed to submit a request to visit the restaurant for the purposes of cleaning and watering flowers. Future steps of the protest participants will be made known after consulting with other participants.
“Nevertheless, one thing is clear: peaceful protests will continue. People are left starving and will be ready to take any action. 12,000 people are left without jobs, without salaries and without means of subsistence,” Davtyan reminded.
