Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Rustem Umerov as the head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service. This news was previously reported by 'Ukrainska Pravda' and 'RBK-Ukraine,' citing their sources, and was later confirmed by Zelensky himself.

According to the President, Umerov will continue to coordinate several key areas, including cooperation with the United States and other partners, issues related to defense and diplomacy, the negotiation process aimed at ending the war, as well as matters concerning unmanned aerial systems.

It is noteworthy that on July 17, Zelensky announced a change in the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, proposing former Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko for that role. According to Ukrainian media reports, Umerov was also considered a candidate for the position of Ukraine's ambassador to the United States at that time.
