Hayk Konjoryan on Incident Involving His Brother
Having been engaged in political activity for 8 years, and having been one of the most active members of the National Assembly for the same duration, alongside leading the ruling faction for 5 years, there are no counterarguments, compromising materials, or counter-theses regarding Hayk Konjoryan personally. Therefore, attempts are made to target Hayk Konjoryan's relatives to strike at him, which he would regard as a positive assessment.
This was stated by Hayk Konjoryan, a candidate for Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, while responding to a question from 'Strong Armenia' faction member Harutyun Mnatsakanyan. Mnatsakanyan asked how Hayk Konjoryan, a fighter for justice in 2015-2016, would comment if he saw discussions about himself in 2026 as a candidate for the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, amidst nearly 10 days of the media only producing scandalous content.
“If you look closely at these stories, there is an enormous amount of fake news. I can’t address all the fake news in just a few minutes,” he said.
When asked if he meant that everything written in the media is entirely fake, Konjoryan responded, “I condemn any type of violence—physical, psychological, any form of violence is unacceptable for me, and there is a criminal case initiated regarding this issue. I am confident that those responsible will face consequences.”
It is noteworthy that a criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident where Hayk Konjoryan's brother was assaulted, and public criminal prosecution has been launched against five individuals. One of those accused of the assault, Nairi Hakobyan, is a member of the Abovyan City Council’s 'Civil Contract' faction.
