Pashinyan's Statement Regarding the EAEU
The question of Armenia's status within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) can only be discussed by Armenia itself. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Commenting on the topic of Armenia's membership in the EAEU, Pashinyan noted that according to the union's regulations, the decision for a member state to exit can only be made by that country.
"The issue of status in the EAEU can only be discussed by Armenia according to EAEU regulations. Only a member can decide to leave, there is no other process. We can discuss any issue, and I assume that questions may arise on the part of our partners, and we will patiently respond to all queries," the Prime Minister stated.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk announced in an interview with TASS that the leaders of member states would discuss Armenia's status in the EAEU during the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in Astana on May 29.
