Snowfall and Difficult Access: Situation on Armenia's Roads
As of January 13 at 19:35, the roads from the Jermuk junction to the Sisian-Shinuhayr-Tatev-Kapan and Noravan-Ltsen-Tatev highways are closed to vehicles with trailers. This has been reported by the Road Department.
The roads in the Ararat region are also difficult to navigate. The Vardenyats Pass is closed to vehicles with trailers, while other types of vehicles face difficulties.
There are patches of black ice on roads in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Sevan, Jambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Sisian, Goris, Ashotik, and Amasia.
Snow is falling in the regions of Ararat, Yeghgnadzor, Sisian, Goris, Meghri, Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Stepanavan, Tashir, Martuni, Sevan, Jambarak, and Ashotik.
All other inter-state and national highways remain open. Road construction workers are carrying out snow removal and treatment with salt and sand on the highways.
