Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister on Flights from Turkey to Armenia
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated at a year-end press conference that Turkey is a fraternal state for Azerbaijan, and they are allies, with Turkey having always supported Azerbaijan on issues related to Armenia.
“After the 44-day war, the process of normalizing relations between Turkey and Armenia has also been carried out systematically. This brings positive results. My colleague Hakan Fidan has also stated in the Turkish parliament that the relations between Turkey and Armenia depend on the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I am confident that this work will continue. The increase in flights from Turkey to Armenia starting next year is not a surprise for us; we are aware of that decision,” he said.
It was previously reported that starting in March, Turkish Airlines will begin direct flights to Yerevan. From May 14, 2026, the weekly frequency of Istanbul-Yerevan flights will reach 10. Starting June 15, the flights will operate 14 times a week.
