No Peace Agreement Exists: Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that there is currently no peace agreement in existence and that it is possible such an agreement may never materialize. He emphasized that peace cannot be confined to a written document if military operations are still ongoing.
Zelensky pointed out that a genuine peace agreement entails not just the outcome of negotiations but also the actual cessation of war. According to him, such an agreement is only considered real when hostilities have completely ceased and the document is signed by the respective leaders of the involved nations.
The Ukrainian president also addressed the upcoming presidential elections, declaring that “Ukraine will not hold elections in the lost territories that have become part of Russia.” He added that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is working on organizing elections abroad and creating the necessary infrastructure for this purpose.
It is worth mentioning that the day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that there are Ukrainian citizens living in Russian territory who have the right to vote.
