Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander Issues Statement
The Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has announced that Ukrainian troops regained control over part of Pokrovsk in mid-November, securing the northern part of the city.
“At a certain point this autumn, our troops could no longer operate in Pokrovsk due to limited capabilities. However, since November 15, as a result of our offensive actions, we have managed to establish control over approximately 13 square kilometers of territory in Pokrovsk,” RBC Ukraine quoted Syrskyi.
According to the commander, major battles continue in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. He noted that the Russian side has increased its military presence in that direction to 156,000 soldiers, while Ukrainian units continue to strengthen their positions along the city’s borders.
Syrskyi indicated that Ukrainian forces had to withdraw from positions located 5-7 kilometers south of Pokrovsk due to the impossibility of rotation and the significant danger to the lives of servicemen.
