US President Donald Trump has stated that there are countries within NATO that complicate the functioning of the alliance, citing Turkey as an example. He mentioned that when NATO faces difficulties in cooperating with Ankara, alliance partners turn to him, asking him to speak with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, 'because they cannot do it themselves.'
Trump added that he considers Erdoğan a friend and 'loves him very much.'
