Entry to Georgia Will Require Medical Insurance Starting in 2026: Details
Starting January 1, 2026, tourists will be required to present medical insurance in Georgian or English when entering Georgia. The insurance must be valid from the moment of entry into Georgia for the entire duration of their stay in the country.
The insurance must cover the following cases:
- Accidents

A penalty of 300 lari (approximately 42,320 Armenian drams) will be imposed for the absence of mandatory medical insurance for foreigners in Georgia. If the penalty is not paid on time, it will double, and then triple. Ignoring these requirements may result in entry restrictions or deportation.
