Turkey and Iran are the Two Powerful Countries in the Region: Fidan
Turkey and Iran are the two influential countries in the region, stated Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Tehran.
Fidan noted that they discussed issues concerning Palestine and Gaza, as well as Syria, Lebanon, Israel, nuclear negotiations, and tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
According to him, both countries agree that "Israel's regional expansion is the number one security threat to the region."
Fidan announced that their goal is to continue the ceasefire in Gaza, which was achieved "through tremendous efforts," and to move on to the next phase.
He also mentioned that "the ongoing aggression in the West Bank and Jerusalem must be stopped as soon as possible, and the international community should contribute to this issue."
Fidan added that the international community should take steps to "immediately halt Israel's expansion, which aims to destabilize Syria and Lebanon."
